Modern FPV drone ESCs and motors can generate extremely short but powerful voltage spikes, especially with active braking (Damped Light). While a standard capacitor is great for smoothing out general voltage ripple, it can be too slow to react to these instant spikes. The FETtec Spike Absorber’s TVS diodes instantly absorb the energy from these spikes, clamping the voltage and protecting your flight controller, ESC, and VTX from damage.
Works with Your Existing Capacitor
The Spike Absorber is not a replacement for a capacitor but an essential addition to it. The clever design allows for a standard electrolytic capacitor to be mounted directly on top of the Spike Absorber board. This makes for a very clean and compact installation on your FPV drone’s main battery pads or ESC power input.
